Youth Advocate Programmes Ireland CLG National Event took place this year in Croke Park on 17th of August 2017. Young people, parents/carers and staff presented a range of projects on the theme of Young People Speak Out – How Can I Bring About Change. It was a fantastic opportunity for young people, parents/carers and professionals from across the country to interact and participate in discussions on to how to improve services for all young people and families.
The National Event showcases the work of Young People and Parents/Carers from all across Ireland, it is a great opportunity to for those attending to hear directly from the Young People and Parents/Carers about the range of ways that they have brought about change for themselves and within services. The event was a great success and we would like to extend a huge well done to all those who participated and presented their projects on the day.
We would especially like to thank our guest speakers Pamela Cooper, Child & Family Support Network Co-ordinator TUSLA, Fred McBride, Chief Executive Officer TUSLA, Dr. Niall Muldoon, Ombudsman for Children, Jim Ryan, Head of Operations HSE Mental Health and Anne Rabbitte TD, Spokesperson on Children and Youth Affairs Fianna Fail.
