We were delighted to attend the launch of the ‘Mighty Midlanders’ artwork in the new Tusla offices in the Primary Care Centre in Mullingar.
The Mighty Midlanders group are a joint project of YAP and Tusla – faciliated by YAP Team Leader Liz and Tusla Social Care worker Lorna. The group worked with an artist to create artwork for the new Tusla offices, to help to make it a more children and young people friendly space. Tusla moved into the new space 8 weeks ago, and have now officially launched the wonderful artwork that is gracing their walls.
There was a big crowd of young people, families and staff in attendance. We heard from the young people themselves about all the work they have done together as a group, as well as from Annette Maguire, Rita Culligan and Jim Gibson from Tusla, Donal the artist, and our very own Director of Services Andrew Chapple. We were also treated to an amazing original rap by young person Jay.
Well done to all the young people involved in the Mighty Midlanders, and to everyone involved in this project over the last year.
