Congratulations to the Young People, Families and Staff of YAP Ireland CLG on another hugely successful event. Over 250 people gathered in Croke Park to see the result of all the work done through the YAP Participation Strategy throughout the last year. There were videos and presentations from Young People and Parent groups in Dublin, Cavan, Monaghan, Meath & Louth, an interview with Galway Hurler Joe Canning and Anne Rabbitte TD by the Young people of Galway, there was a song written and recorded by three young girls from Limerick, a T-Shirt designed and presented to the CEO Siobhán O’Dwyer by Young People from Tipperary and Clare, an art installation by the Young People in the Midlands, and a poster by the Young People in Cork, to name but a few.

We also had presentations by Young People from VOYPIC, Extern, the Cavan Wellbeing Centre, Jigsaw, Northside Partnership and many others. We also had speakers from TUSLA, Oberstown, our own Chair of the Board Aidan Browne and special guests from YAP Inc. Dorienne Silva and Young Person Lottie Lafay Toney. We were also delighted to launch the YAP APP, designed and developed by two former YAP Ireland Young People together with their Advocate.

Speaking after the event Claire Fitzpatrick from the Board of YAP Ireland CLG said:  ” It was a privilege to be there.  It truly was one of the most uplifting and moving events I have ever attended.  The effort all of the YAP staff put in was amazing and the energy and feeling of inclusion in Croke Park is something that will stay with me for ever”.

CEO Siobhán O’Dwyer.“I am so glad it all went well and all the Young People felt valued and treasured”

Roll on 2017!!!!
