Frances Fitzgerald, T.D. Minister for Children and Youth Affairs addressed the audience attending our ‘I am a citizen’ national event on 23rd October in the Croke Park conference centre. In her speech the Minister commented on the range of projects presented on the day and the unconditional support young people receive from their Advocates to complete the projects. The Minister acknowledged that the work carried out by YAP gives young people an opportunity to grow as a person, to become an active citizen in their community and that it also provides young people with an opportunity to be successful and consider their futures. The Minister stated it was a privilege to be invited to see the work of the organisation in action and to meet with and hear positive stories from young people in Ireland.
