YAP Ireland are delighted to announce that we have been presented with the Investing in Children Membership Award for the third year in a row, celebrating young people’s voice and rights as a key part of YAP’s work.
The Investing in Children Membership award promotes the human rights of children and young people. In Youth Advocate Programmes we are committed to creating spaces for children and young people to come together and generate good ideas about the service they receive. The award recognises and celebrates examples of imaginative and inclusive practice and gives organisations the opportunity to award services that can demonstrate a commitment to dialogue with young people that leads to change.
The voice of young people is key to the participatory nature of our work and the ways that we deliver positive outcomes for young people and families across the country. We have found the process of going through the IiC award to be extremely beneficial to our work and plans for how we deliver our services in future. We look forward to working further with our young people over the coming year and going for four-in-a-row!
