The Launch of the YAP Ireland Currach in Cork City was a huge success! The currach was built by a group of young people and parents from the YAP Cork programme and Meitheal Mara using traditional methods, skills and materials. The boat was officially launched by Kathleen Lynch TD Minister for Disability, Equality, Mental Health and Older People on Lapp’s Quay, Boardwalk, Cork City.
The currach took part in the 2012 international Ocean to City Race as part of the Cork Maritime Festival. The festival is took place on the June Bank Holiday weekend and the boat race took place on Saturday 2nd June.
