Limerick Participation Group Go Bowling
The participation group in Limerick has started again and the group met for the first time this week. YAP Ireland staff took the group bowling as its first activity and as a group forming exercise.

Investing in Children Membership Award Scheme Launch
On 23rd September 2014 YAP Ireland CLG in partnership with VOYPIC launched the Investing in Children membership award scheme. The membership scheme recognises and celebrates examples of imaginative and inclusive practice and gives organisations the opportunity to award services that can demonstrate a commitment to dialogue with young people that leads to change. The launch took place in YAP Ireland CLG’s Head Office. Key speakers at the launch included Tanya Ward, Chief Executive of Children’s Rights Alliance and Liam Cairns, Director of Investing in Children, UK.

YAP Cork presentation to Pieta House
Case Manager, Amanda and the Advocates in Cork were recently involved in a great participation project with Pieta House in Cork. The project involved a number of young people and Advocates working on a three-part art piece where the young people highlighted the theme of ‘a Gift of Hope’.
Inaugural Conference Children & Youth Forum Limerick

The conference was held as part of the Limerick Lifelong Learning Festival.
Longitudinal Evaluation of YAP Ireland
YAP Ireland contracted a research team from National University of Maynooth to carry out an external evaluation of the YAP Ireland model.

Investing in Children
In 2013, YAP Ireland CLG worked with a UK based group Investing in Children to review how YAP promote young people’s rights in our work. We felt that this was a good opportunity for YAP to put forward our strengths based approach and commitment to involving young people in all aspects of our work.
YAP Partner Survey
YAP Ireland carried out a Partner Opinion Survey as part of our Annual Report 2013 theme ‘Partnership’. The survey was completed online by partners of YAP Ireland, primarily referrers to the YAP Ireland service.

YAP Compete in Cork Ocean to City Race 2014
On the 31st of May in conjunction with Meitheal Mara, 8 young people on the YAP Ireland programme in Cork competed in the annual international Ocean to City race.

YAP Youth Forum
On February 20th, the YAP Youth Forum met for the third time. 18 young people from the programme attended the day. On the day, the group discussed how the group would work, how the Youth CEOs would be elected and they did some work on developing an information brochure on the group.
