A diverse exhibition of photos and images produced by young people opened in the Exchange Gallery in Dublin’s Temple Bar. The exhibition was the result of a nationwide project undertaken by young people and each young person who participated was encouraged to create an original image around a series of themes that included ‘community’, ‘life in my town’ and ‘self portrait’.  The resulting exhibition of insightful and perceptive images reflects the individuality of the young people who contributed to the show and provides a glimpse into how they see themselves and their community.  Siobhan O’ Dwyer CEO of YAP Ireland said she was “delighted the young people involved in YAP have the opportunity to showcase their talents. They have gained in confidence and developed new skills, which through this exhibition they are now sharing with other young people, their families and the wider community”.  Jane, one of the young people involved said she felt the project was a great opportunity for young people to express their creativity in public.” While Nadia who also contributed said she felt the project meant that young people were “having their voices heard”.
