YAP Ireland celebrated the launch of its Annual Report 2012 launch on Wednesday 27th March 2013 in Wynn’s Hotel, Dublin. Key speakers at the event included Peter Fitzpatrick, T.D.; Martin Rogan, HSE Assistant National Director for Mental Health; James Barry, Youth Engagement Officer Headstrong; Marie Faughey, CFSA Manager; Tommy Linnane, Chair of YAP Ireland Board; Advocates; parents and young people who availed of the service.
The event also marked the launch of its positive outcomes of working with young people and families during 2012. In 2012, there was an 86% improvement in self-esteem and confidence of young people on YAP Programmes – a major indicator of improved mental health and wellbeing. At the event, Siobhán O’Dwyer, CEO YAP Ireland reported that YAP Ireland provides an invaluable support for young people in creating a better future for themselves in the local communities.
