If so, YAP Ireland is seeking youth advocates for fulfilling opportunities within our services Nationwide.

We provide the training, support and expertise needed in order for you to achieve incredible outcomes with our young people on a daily basis.

YAP Advocates come from all walks of life and make a huge difference to the lives of Young People and Families.

We welcome applicants from a diverse background with relevant life/work experience or volunteering and you do not need to have a qualification.

Who we are:

As a registered Irish Charity – We are a leading provider of intensive support programmes for young people and families. Our approach focuses on using a strengths’ based, family-focused approach for young people with complex needs leading to positive outcomes for the young people, their families and referral agents. We work with over 500 young people and families each year through our programmes.

Your Role:

As a Youth Advocate, you will be part of a supportive team and work under the guidance of a Team Leader. Your role will involve using the YAP strengths-based model to provide tailored support to vulnerable young people and their families within their homes and local communities, empowering them to achieve their goals.

At YAP Ireland, we are committed to delivering a personalized service from three months to a year for children, young people, and families facing a diverse range of challenges. Through working together you will facilitate positive change and help them achieve their aspirations.

What you should have:

A positive attitude towards children and young people and an ability to work from a strengths-based perspective, be non-judgemental and creative.

• A knowledge/understanding of issues affecting young people.

Good communication skills.

• Available for flexible working hours, day time, evenings and weekends

• Good time management and organisational skills.

• Basic computer skills.

• Ability to write reports on work undertaken.

• Full Driving Licence and your own means of transport.
