This year's YAP National Event on our theme of Mind Yourself, Mind Each Other - Young People Speak Out on Improving Mental Health and Wellbeing was held in Croke Park on Thursday 26th July 2018.
We are delighted to announce that YAP Ireland has been awarded the Investing in Children membership award for 2018 for the 4th year in row! The award recognises imaginative practice and the active inclusion of children and young people in dialogue that leads to change. The assessments, which took place late last year, involve talking to young people directly to hear their thoughts on the services they receive.
Thank you so much to Elena who brought in a special handmade 3D Christmas card to the Dublin office this morning. She wanted to say thanks for everything YAP has done for her daughter this year.
This is a day for children, by children, all over the world to help save children’s lives, fight for their rights and help them fulfil their potential. It's about lots of events all over Ireland celebrating this.
Paying it Forward. The Parents, with the help of Young People and Advocates in YAP Cork have developed a really nice tool-kit type flyer.
Naomi and and her Advocate Pamela did some Voluntary work at the West Cork Animal Rescue Centre. They also did a fundraising walk to help with food, shelter and vet costs.
Our parent participation group came in for a festive Christmas breakfast this morning, tempting all of us in the Dublin office with the smell of a fry up and some Christmas tunes!

Our parent participation group has been going from strength to strength since it started early last year. We meet every second week and cook ourselves a bit of a fry up!
